Managing notifications

Edited

From the Notifications tab of your account, authenticated users can manage which workspace-related notifications and Opendatasoft newsletters they wish to receive by email.

Subscribing to alerts and reports

Alerts and reports are sent whenever an important event occurs on the portal. They allow users to be informed and, if necessary, to take action in real time.

Three types of workspace-related notifications can be sent:

  • Daily reports
Portal alerts and news sent daily at 9 a.m. CET. They notify users about processing alerts, newly created datasets on the portal, and pending user feedbacks on a dataset.

  • Processing alerts
Sent whenever there is a processing alert on a newly created dataset. They notify about malfunctioning processors, and errors in real-time dataset update.

  • Quota alerts
Sent when a quota has reached 80%, or else has expired.

Tick the boxes to subscribe to the notifications. Untick the boxes to stop receiving the corresponding notification.

Notifications are sent to the users depending on their permissions. Also, notifications are always sent by support@opendatasoft.com. For notifications to be sent from a different sender address, for example, the email address of an organization, please contact the support team.

Daily reports in more detail

The daily report contains a recap of the portal's active issues:

  • Open processing alerts for real-time datasets, i.e. no data received for a period of time

  • Datasets currently in error due to processing (scheduled or triggered)

  • Datasets created the previous day

  • Datasets with pending user feedback

They are sent every day at 9 a.m. CET.

Recipients are all users on the workspace with the "Edit all datasets" permission enabled.

Processing alerts in more detail

The following events trigger a dataset processing notification:

  • A real-time dataset did not receive data for a period of time (the period of time can be configured for each dataset)

  • A dataset finished its processing with errors

Recipients are all users on the workspace and on the security list with the "Edit all datasets" permission enabled.

Quota alerts in more detail

The following API call quotas are taken into consideration:

  • The number of API calls allowed in your Opendatasoft license (the quota shared by all users, both authenticated and anonymous)

  • The quota allowed to any specific user

  • The quota allowed to all anonymous users

A notification email is sent when any of these conditions is met:

  • 80% of the allowed API calls have been reached for a given quota

  • The maximum number of allowed API calls has been reached for a given quota

Recipients are any individual user whose quota has been reached, and all users on the workspace with the "Edit all datasets" permission enabled.
