About the Data Collection Form feature
Why use data collection forms?
Collecting reliable, up-to-date data can be a challenge for any organization, especially with a large number of contributors. In partnership with Umami Data, we've created the Data Collection Form as an add-on feature to make your data even more accessible and collaborative with real-time data collection forms and data moderation tools.
With this accessible, customizable, and easy-to-use tool, you can gather and validate up-to-date, quality data. Do you need to perform impactful surveys? To allow your citizens to report needed street repairs? To provide a comprehensive and up-to-date list of your different city services? Data Collection Form can help.
What the feature can do for you
Data Collection Form allows you to create, customize, and share surveys and forms. Then, as they're filled out, those contributions directly enrich existing datasets with a new source of data, or else create new datasets. Collect information from a large number of people in a consistent, accurate, and efficient way, and immediately analyze and make use of this data in Opendatasoft.
Data Collection Form allows you to:
Create and manage different data-entry templates, surveys and forms
Collect your data collaboratively
Moderate and ensure that the data collected is accurate, up-to-date, and properly formatted
Have your data seamlessly integrate with Opendatasoft
Configuring forms is easy, since you can create them based directly on existing Opendatasoft datasets and their schemas. This means less time spent specifying technical details, and more time spent on the actual content of your forms. And since the forms allow for semantic data types, such as postal and other administrative codes, the form data feeds directly into your Opendata datasets.
How to sign up for and use Data Collection Form
Data Collection Form is a add-on feature for Opendatasoft clients, and can be adapted to your needs (number of forms and contributions). Please contact your Customer Success Manager or fill out this form for more information.
Then, once you have access to the feature, here's how to get started. The Data Collection Form feature is managed in two spaces:
You manage your users and configure the feature in your Opendatasoft workspace.
You create and manage your forms in an account you set up on contribuer.io, a site built by Umami for this feature.
Then all that's left is to share your forms and moderate their contributions!
