Connecteur Waze

Patrick Smith Updated by Patrick Smith

This connector is not available by default. Please contact Opendatasoft for the activation of this connector on a given Opendatasoft domain.
Note that to use this connector, you must first have configured a Waze Connected Citizens Program account. See here for more information or contact us if you have trouble configuring your account.

The Waze connector is used to retrieve traffic data from the Waze API.

To create a Waze connector, in your back office click on Create a new dataset and select the Waze connector under "Configure a remote service."

Configuring the Waze connector

You need to define three pieces of information to configure the Waze connector.

  1. The URL of your Waze feed.
  2. The type of data you want to get:
    • Alerts: All traffic data reported by Waze users through the Waze mobile application.
    • Jams: Data gathered in real time about traffic slowdowns on specific road segments.
    • Irregularities: Traffic jams identified by the system as irregular by taking into account historical speed data.
  3. If necessary, toggle "View only partner alerts."
When off, alerts are included from both the partner feed and Waze users via the application. When toggled on, it includes only those from the partner feed.
To ensure that the information in these datasets is updated automatically, you should add a scheduler to the dataset's Scheduling tab. A frequency of five minutes is likely sufficient.

And don't forget to set up filters, fill out the metadata, and define the security for these datasets.
